Jussie Smollett Gets Candid about his Sexuality in OUT Magazine

Empire star Jussie Smollett is the cover star of OUT Magazine.
The 32-year-old star gets very candid with the magazine about his sexuality. See excerpts below.
On his Empire costar, Taraji P. Henson’s, perspective on sexual orientation: “She said, ‘Who gives a f*ck? I don’t tell these motherf*ckers that I’m straight. Why the f— do you have to tell them that you’re gay?’ That was so O.G., and it just made me love her even more.”
On how he self-identifies: “I am a gay man with an extremely open heart. God, I’ve never had to talk about this, so I’m trying to find the words. If I had to label myself, I would label myself as a gay man. With that said, I believe that love is the only thing that matters, and I would hope that anybody would leave themselves open – not to gender, but to love. I would hope that people would not close themselves off from what could be if, lo and behold, you meet somebody that just sweeps you off your feet, and you just can’t do anything about it. If we truly believe that we are born this way, then why do we try to stifle the way we were born? If I fall in love down the road with a woman, I’m going to love that woman.”
On his perception of sexual orientation: “But this is a conversation that deserves to be had, because we don’t all understand each other. You’re not going to tell me that loving someone is wrong. That does not mean that heterosexuality is not a very real. It does not mean that bisexuality is not very real. It does not mean that homosexuality is not very real. They are all very real. But what I’m saying is, I am a gay man. I am a gay man. I am a gay man. I don’t know how many times I have to say that.”
On waiting for “the one”: I have so much love inside that it pains me sometimes. You end up finding yourself all-consumed by the issues of the world, and that’s something I don’t want to change about myself. So until the love of my life shows up, until I find my boo, I’m just going to be out, up in this piece, a lone ranger.

Mark Zuckerberg Becomes World’s Sixth Richest Person & Made $800 million While On Paternity Leave!

Mark Zuckerberg has become the world’s richest person and fourth wealthiest in the Unites States – while he was on two-month paternity leave.
The Facebook CEO’s wealth soared to $47.9 billion this week after the social media website’s stock climbed 12 per cent following a strong quarterly earnings report, according to Forbes.
The 31-year-old Harvard graduate is now the youngest person on the world’s top ten richest list where he sits above Google founder Larry Page, the Koch brothers and most recently, Oracle’s Larry Ellison.
Zuckerberg only entered the top ten list at the end of last year when he was catapulted from 14th in 2014 into seventh on the strength of his impressive fortune. He is also now ranked as the fourth richest in the Unites States.
Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates is still the richest person in the world. His fortune currently stands at $76.2 billion
Behind Gates is Zara founder Amancio Ortega who has a real time net worth of around $68.4 billion.
Last year, Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, announced a $120 million donation to improve education in the San Francisco Bay area, particularly for low-income students. It came five years after donating $100 million to remake education in Newark.
The Facebook founder has been on paternity leave since the birth of his daughter, Maxima, with wife Priscilla Chan, in November when his net worth was estimated at $47.1 billion.
He only returned to work last Monday.

The Zuckerbergs reveal they will donate 99% of their wealth
Max – short for Maxima – weighed seven pounds, eight ounces, when she was born and is now the heir to the Silicon Valley tycoon’s $46billion fortune.
The couple revealed that they plan on donating 99 percent of their wealth to worthy causes.
The internet entrepreneur first appeared on Forbes’ 400 richest people in America in September 2009 with a net worth of $2 billion – two years before Facebook’s IPO in May 2012.
Since the initial public offering, Zuckerberg’s wealth has increased exponentially as Facebook continues to smash investor’s expectations.
The world’s biggest online social network bucked the trend of underwhelming tech results from Apple Inc and eBay Inc, in the face of economic turmoil in China and a strong U.S. dollar depressing the value of overseas sales.
It saw a 52 per cent jump in quarterly revenue as it sold more ads targeted at a fast-growing number of mobile users, sending its shares sharply higher after hours.
The strong growth puts the firm it in a position to challenge Google as the Internet’s most powerful company.
In total, Mark Zuckerberg’s company posted revenue of 17.9 billion US dollars (£12.5bn) in revenue for the year, up from 12.4 billion US dollars (£8.7bn) in 2014, an increase of 44%. The number of monthly active users – a key measuring stick – was also up, 14% on 2014 to 1.59 billion users.
Just over one billion of those use Facebook every day, and 934 million of those access the site on a mobile device, a crucial market as smartphones and tablets begin to dominate time spent online.

The results marked the first time that Facebook’s quarterly revenue has surpassed $5 billion.
The performance surpassed analyst estimates.
‘It’s phenomenal at these (currency headwind) levels that they’re accelerating to that level of growth,’ said Rob Sanderson, an analyst at MKM Partners.

1.44 billion used the service on mobile devices
Facebook now sees 100 million hours of daily video watch time.
There are 1 billion monthly users now users on Groups.
80 million people use Facebook’s stripped down app Facebook Lite for the developing world’s slow connections.
500 million users are on Events.
‘I don’t think there’s going to be too many people crying for them to start monetizing other properties anytime soon because the core business is so strong.’
Facebook shares rose more than 12 percent in after-hours trading to $106.51.
Total revenue rose to $5.84 billion from $3.85 billion a year earlier, with ad revenue increasing 56.8 percent to $5.64 billion in the holiday shopping period, when spending on advertising typically spikes.
Excluding some items, the company earned 79 cents per share.
Analysts on average had expected earnings of 68 cents per share and revenue of $5.37 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Apart from focusing on mobile, Facebook has been ramping up spending on what it calls ‘big bets,’ including virtual reality, artificial intelligence and drones to connect the remotest parts of the world to the Internet.
Zuckerberg, who returned from two months of paternity leave on Monday, has said virtual reality represents the next major computing platform.
In January, Facebook began taking orders for a consumer version of the Oculus Rift, a head-mounted virtual reality unit.
The company has also begun monetizing some of its other units, such as photo-sharing app Instagram, which surpassed 400 million users last year and began selling ads in September.
Facebook is growing rapidly as it enters adolescence, putting it in a position to challenge Google as the Internet’s most powerful company. The results marked the first time that Facebook’s quarterly revenue has surpassed $5 billion.

Facebook said mobile ads accounted for 80 percent of total ad revenue in the quarter, compared with about 78 percent in the third quarter and 69 percent a year earlier.
‘It’s much stronger ad growth than we were expecting,’ said Ken Sena, an analyst at Evercore ISI.
‘It signifies the importance of what they’re providing to advertisers,’ he said. ‘They’re making big investments and evidenced by their quarterly performance it seems to be working.’
The company, which has the world’s most popular smartphone app, has also been benefiting from a surge in video views that has attracted advertising dollars.
Facebook said it had 1.59 billion monthly active users as of December 31, up 14 percent from the end of 2014. Of those, 1.44 billion used the service on mobile devices, an increase of 21 percent.
Analysts had expected the company to report 1.58 billion monthly active users, with 1.43 billion accessing the service through smartphones and tablets, according to market research firm FactSet StreetAccount.

The Power Of Solitude And 7 Reasons Why You Need It!

Wishing you a very spirit filled SUNDAYSHADRACHONYARIN'SBLOG
Practicing the act of Solitude is not something many Christians are familiar with. However, it is as old as the our Christian faith itself and is a necessity for any Christian, who craves a successful walk with God, and the fulfillment of His purpose here on earth. Here are 8 reasons why solitude is important to your faith.

1.Jesus practiced going for solitude regularly.

“And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.” Matthew 14:23
“Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12

2. It provides the Christian with an opportunity to be alone with God.

I must say here that the kind of solitude I recommend is being alone with God not with multitude of people. You could still go to a meeting or a prayer retreat with many people, it is also important, but the most effective is the one that is done alone.

3. Mountains are always a place of revelation.

When a man is alone on the prayer mountain(solitude), God often reveals himself to them.
Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening. 30 And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.” Luke 9:28 – 31
“Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by.” 1kings 19: 11a

4. Everything precious is always given birth to in solitude.

When man gets to be alone either with himself or with his creator or with another person, creation becomes possible. For example the great artist, minds, writers, etc all got their inspirations mainly during their time of solitude. Guys like Salvador Dali, Michelangelo, Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, Thomas Edison, Sir Isaac Newton, etc. All these people were people who regularly practiced solitude and that is why they were able to give birth to great things. Hence all great things come through solitude.

5.Human Life is conceived in solitude

On a more domestic front, the most precious entity in the world is human life. A careful examination of the process of conception of human life takes us to a place of solitude as well. A man and a woman have to get to a place of privacy and solitude for them to be able to conceive. That tells us that when man also in the same way gets together with his creator in solitude conception takes place. Solitude with God is a place for pregnancy. This is also a place to receive great ideas, and creative ideas from God.

7. God opens the heavens and shows us His plans

John 5: 19Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
This is why Jesus practiced solitude to be able to see into the heavenly realm. When we practice solitude, God opens the doors of heaven and He allows us to see into his plans and into the future.

8. Solitude is a place for purification for man.

A place where man changes from his sinful nature and puts on the nature of God. It is a place of transfiguration. The glory of God descends on somebody that practices solitude and changes his nature by the glory of God.
Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Matt 17: 1-3

SIX Steps To Achieving Any Goal!

Remember that one glorious night not too long ago when you were pumped full of champagne and big ideas? You promised yourself that this would be the year you accomplish <insert goal here>, and you resolved to make it happen. And then you shouted something inaudible above the crowd to your friends, kissed a random stranger and then danced the night away. Yep, that night.
It’s now time for a pulse check. How are you doing on <insert goal here>? Have you accomplished it? Are you at least on your way to accomplishing it? The year is about 25 percent complete by the way (pretend I said that in my most optimistic voice).
Let’s hypothetically say that you gave up on the goal you set for yourself. Or maybe you’ve since set more goals (the less vetted versions of these are called dreams) and now you’re sitting there wasting away doing nothing about them.
We set goals of all calibers for ourselves every single day (heck, this morning I set a goal to remember to eat breakfast). We’re not setting goals for our health (well, wait, some of you are), we’re setting goals because we want to become better versions of ourselves or we want to upgrade our life experiences. We have personally selected these milestones as a way to make it happen.
There’s a reason you want to accomplish these things, so respect that desire and do something about it. You can turn this train around if you commit yourself to doing it. Here are six tricks that may help.

1. Look at it.

A goal that you can actually see is massively more powerful than a goal you write down on a checklist. This is a favorite technique of mine and it works very well if you’re a visual learner.
Every year, a friend of mine spreads magazines all over her living room and invites her girlfriends over for a “vision board” party. Vision boards are comprised of pictures (from the magazines) that motivate the creator of that board. Want to lose weight? Cut out a pic of a bikini clad model (don’t pick a model that’s totally out of your league, be realistic). Want to make more money? Cut out a pic that speaks to you on that level. You get the idea.
These days, you can even hit the interwebs for a little vision board action. If you have a goal to become a better cook at home, you can visualize (and motivate yourself) much better if you throw a few attractive recipes up on your Pinterest board. Have a goal to make it to the next level in your career? Hit up Instagram and find someone who posts quotes all day long. Or visit sites like (awesome name, right?) for some fitness and health inspiration.

2. Tell people.

I was perusing Facebook recently and stumbled on my friend Jennifer’s blog post. In it, she was announcing her intentions to change her world in a big way, getting in shape and becoming that healthy mom she’s always wanted to be. She was open with her goals and descriptive in what she was aiming to accomplish.
And you know what? I firmly believe she’s going to do it.
Making yourself accountable to your friends and family is one of the best ways to reach your goals. Sure, it’s uncomfortable to share your setbacks. But when you do, you’re going to get emails from friends who have experienced the same and they’ll get your mind back on track. And when you tell them about the milestones you reach, you’re going to get applause from people wishing they were you and reaching those same goals too.
When you tell people your goals, they will jump in the boat with you and help you get there. You will be shocked by the support you’ll get from your network. You’ll be even more surprised by the people who come out of the woodwork to join you in your journey or privately cheer you on, knowing what you’re going through.
And if you’re the masochistic, egotistical type, this tactic works wonders. Just think…you’ve told everyone you know that you’re heading out to accomplish this goal. If you don’t do it, there will be some embarrassment in it for you. Hey, whatever works!

3. Break it up.

Many people abandon goals because they’re just too dang big. If you’ve done this to yourself, stop now. Change your game plan.
Take for instance the goal of becoming your own boss. It’s a noble goal, but if you’re a cubicle dweller, it’s a hefty one. So break it up into bite-sized chunks. Start by launching a side hustle (this girl has nearly perfected her side hustle) and see where that takes you. Select milestones to get there and make each of those a tiny goal. Perhaps a percentage of traffic increase on your website, or reaching a certain number of clients or bringing in a certain amount of revenue. Breaking your big goal into small ones will make jumping off the cliff of self-employment a much more feasible option for you.
You have long dreamt of vacationing in Rome, but you never seem to have the cash when it comes time to book it. No problem. Figure out how much it will cost you and start saving small increments of cash into an account you never look at. If you’ve calculated correctly (and I can’t help you there, I write for a living), you’ll have no trouble paying for the trip when it’s time to lock down your summer plans.
Some people may refer to this tactic as “creating a plan,” but I was trying not to go too Type A on you here. I have an image to keep up.

4. Set a date.

One of the best ways to knock out a goal is to put it on your calendar. If you put a stake in the ground and impose a date on yourself, you’re much more likely to reach it.
Do you want to run your first marathon? That’s awesome, but it’s useless if you don’t even know which one, when or where. So before you buy those pretty pink shoes, join a running team or even get off the couch, I recommend you just suck it up and sign up for the actual race. Set a date for yourself so you have something to work toward (not to mention paying for something really throws some skin in the game).
One of my goals? To pet a whale. Yes, I’ve been waffling for more than two years on the decision to finally take that dream sea-kayaking, whale-watching journey. And I know, all I really need to do to knock this off my to-do’s is to actually book the trip. I’d say it’s time to eat my own dog food with that one.

5. Be realistic.

I’m sure if I asked everyone here, you’d all be just as interested in magically obtaining a bazillion dollars or finding the cure for cancer as I would.  But there are some goals that are just too out of this world. Simple but true…you’re more likely to reach goals that you realistically set for yourself.
Maybe you won’t become a body builder or a famous rail-thin model, but you can sure as heck lose some body fat and waltz around confidently in your favorite outfit in no time if you just put some elbow grease into it.
Don’t set yourself up for failure by letting your dreams get bigger than your abilities. That’s not to say don’t set hard goals for yourself, just make sure they’re attainable.

6. Commit to yourself.

Last but not least, there’s only one person in this goal-setting process that matters. You. You’re the one who has to put the hours in at the gym. You’re the one who needs to stay late at the office to finish that task for your boss so you can score the promotion. You’re the only one receiving the paycheck that will eventually pay you out of credit card debt. It’s all on you, my friend. Commit to yourself and then re-commit yourself each time you fall (because that definitely happens along the way).
There’s a great quote out there that says, “It’s funny how day by day, nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.” One year from now, you’ll be one year older no matter what. What can yoou do with your goals today that will make looking back to today feel really different and really satisfying?

To become a high flier, you must be a goal achiever-shadrachonyarin'sblog

More Than Half The world’s Billionaires are Christians, Here are the Top 10 Including A Nigerian Woman!

A recent research has shown that more than half of the world billionaires have been identified as Christians.
The study, from the nonpartisan wealth research firm New World Wealth, found that of the 13.1 million millionaires in the world, 7.4 million, or 56.2 percent, identify themselves as Christian when asked about their religion.
The study also revealed that the richest countries are also Christian-dominant. According to New World Wealth, 7 of the 10 wealthiest countries—ranked by number of millionaires—are “Christian dominated,” according to the report.
Here’s a list of the billionaires and entrepreneurs who are Christians from all around the world – the richest Christians in the world – deducing from the result obtained from the study. As you read their short biographies, you will see as the scriptures came alive in their lives yielding massive results for them. Checkout the list below:

1. John D Rockefeller
He was the founder of the Standard Oil Company, which dominated the oil industry. Rockefeller revolutionised the petroleum industry and set the standard for modern philanthropy.
He was a devout Christian who taught in Sunday school and supported many church-based projects throughout his life. Rockefeller was quoted as saying “God gave me money”, and he did not apologise for it. He followed John Wesley’s principle of “gain all you can, save all you can, and give all you can.”
From his very first paycheck, Rockefeller tithed ten percent of his earnings to his church. As Rockefeller’s wealth grew, his giving also increased, with most of his giving going towards educational and public health causes, as well as basic science and the art.
He became the world’s richest man and the first American worth more than a billion dollars. After taking into account inflation, he is often regarded as being the richest person in modern history.

2. Mary Kay Ash
Mary Kay Ash retired in 1963 after being passed over for a promotion in favour of a man that she had trained. She intended to write a book to help women in business. The book soon turned into a business plan, and in 1963, Mary Kay Ashbegan Mary Kay Cosmetics with a $5,000 investment.
The founding principle of Mary Kay Cosmetics was known as the “Golden Rule”, upon which the company’s marketing plan was developed to allow women to advance by helping others to succeed. She advocated “praising people to success” and her slogan “God first, family second, career third” expressed her belief that the women in her company should keep their lives in the right balance.
Mary Kay was honoured as the number 1 leading female entrepreneur in American history.

3. Tyler Perry
Within a few years, Tyler Perry went from being homeless to selling out theatres. Tyler Perry is an outspoken Christian who credits his success to God. In 2006, he established Tyler Perry Studios and in 2008 it moved to its current location – a 200,000 square foot studio facility situated in Southwest Atlanta, USA.
 4. Henry Heinz
Henry H
Henry Heinz was a nineteenth century Christian businessman who founded the Heinz company 1869. Heinz based his business on Christian principles and proclaimed that his success was a direct result of his faith in God. Heinz was committed to bringing out the best in people and his company was credited for its fair treatment of workers and for pioneering safe and clean food preparation.
Today the Heinz company is worth around $12 billion. It’s most famous product is tomato ketchup, with 650 million bottles of Ketchup being sold every year.

5. Sam Walton
Sam walton
Sam Walton was an American businessman and entrepreneur, best known for founding the Wal-Mart retail stores. With his strong Christian background based on ethics and hard work, Walton excelled in school, college, and business. Early in his career, he worked as a management trainee for J. C. Penney.
In 1998, Walton was included in Time’s list of 100 most influential people of the 20th Century and Forbes ranked him as the richest man in the United States from 1982 to 1988. Interestingly, Bill Gates only topped the list for the first time in 1992, the year Walton died.

6. Cher Wang
Cher Wang is a Taiwanese entrepreneur who co-founded smartphone maker, HTC Corporation and VIA Technologies. Her late father was Wang Yung-ching, who was one of the richest individuals in Taiwan.Wang is a devout Christianwho was quoted as saying that the Bible is “the best book about management practice”. One of the most important things she has learned from the Bible is that a person must have a vision, otherwise he or she will be destroyed. The vision for HTC Corporation came during her early career whilst Wang was working in First International Computer. As she dragged bulky, heavy computers to client offices, she knew there must be a better way of designing a computer that could fit in the palm of your hand. In 1997 she acted on that vision and HTC Corporation was born.
In May 2011, Forbes ranked her and her husband Wen Chi Chen as the richest people in Taiwan. Following some challenges with HTC’s sales dropping in recent months, Forbes ranked her and her husband’s as Taiwan’s 13th richest people with a combined net worth of US$2.5 billion in 2013.

7. Folorunsho Alakija
Alakija started out her professional career in the mid 70s as a secretary at the now defunct International Merchant Bank of Nigeria, one of the country’s earliest investment banks. In the early 80s, Alakija quit her job and went on to study Fashion design in England, returning to Nigeria shortly afterwards to start Supreme Stitches, a premium Nigerian fashion label which catered exclusively to upscale clientele.
The business thrived, and Alakija quickly made a tidy fortune selling high-end Nigerian clothing to fashionable wives of military bigwigs and society women.
In May 1993 Alakija applied for an allocation of an Oil Prospecting License (OPL). The license to explore for oil on a 617,000 acre block – (now referred to as OPL 216) was granted to Alakija’s company, Famfa Limited. The block is located approximately 220 miles South East of Lagos and 70 miles offshore Nigeria in the central Niger Delta.
This was in 1993. Many wealthy Nigerian businessmen and military bigwigs who had been allocated oil blocs by the military administration at the time had no clue as to the technicalities in operating an oil block, so many of them typically acquired OPLs, and then flipped them off to international oil companies for substantial profits but Alakija was intelligent. She had no expertise or experience in running an oil field, but she decided not to sell off her license. In September 1996, she entered into a joint venture agreement with Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Texaco) and appointed the company as a technical adviser for the exploration of the license, transferring 40 percent of her 100 percent stake to Star Deep. Subsequently, Star Deep sold off 8 percent of its stake in OPL 216 to Petrobas, a Brazilian company.Folorunsho Alakija and her family owned 60 percent.
After a lengthy court battle which lasted for several years with the federal government of Nigeria, the Supreme Court voided the government’s acquisition of a 50 percent stake in OML 127 and subsequently transferred the 50 percent stake to Famfa Oil which saw the little-known oil company Famfa owning a 60 percent in OML 127, one of Nigeria’s most prolific oil blocks in May 2012,
Folorunsho Alakija is the founder of the Rose of Sharon foundation, a Christian-based charity which gives out small grants to widows. In 2013, she replaced Oprah Winfrey to become the richest black woman in the world with a $1.88b net-worth.

A born again Christian, Strive Masiyiwa was quoted as saying that he reads his bible for at least 4 hours a day – if he’s busy! He tithes 10% of his annual income to his church. Together with his wife, he personally pays the school fees for over 22,000 Zimbabwean orphans.
According to Forbes, 2015, he has an estimated net worth of US$600 million.

9. David Green

David Green Hobby-Lobby
He is a 70 year old billionaire and founder of Hobby Lobby, an arts and crafts chain with 520 superstores in 42 states. Green and his family own 100% of the company and he ranks No. 79 on the list of the 400 richest Americans, with an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion. He was quoted saying; “If you have anything or if I have anything, it’s because it’s been given to us by our Creator, so I have learned to say, ‘Look, this is yours, God. It’s all yours. I’m going to give it to you.’” Green keeps the total amount of his giving private but Forbes has estimated his total lifetime giving at above $500million, making him the largest individual financier of evangelical causes in America.
Green sponsors the YouVersion Bible app for mobile phones which has already been downloaded over 50 million times. He also plans to give 90% of his wealth to ministry work when he dies. He is the owner of the largest private collection of biblical antiquities in the world and plans to open the Museum of the Bible within three years.
Green recalls the memory of his parents’ putting their last dime on the collection plate. His father was a poor preacher yet despite their financial state, Green’s mother stepped out in faith and regularly gave to the church. He attributes his blessing to his mother’s giving and the fact that he continues to give today.

10. Jin Sook and Do Won Chang
Jin Sook and her husband Do Won Chang rank No. 79 on the list of the 400 richest Americans, in joint place with David Green. They are the founders of fashion retail outlet “Forever 21”. In 1981 they immigrated to America from Korea. Do Won held three jobs to survive, doing janitorial work, pumping gas and working in a coffee shop.
They soon opened their first clothing store in 1984. Today Forever 21 operates 480 stores with an estimated annual turnover of over $3 billion. Jin Sook and Do Won Chang make a point of printing John 3:16 on the bottom of every Forever 21 shopping bag.

11. Truett Cathy
Truett Cathy is the 91 year old founder of food outlet Chick-fil-A and ranks No. 89 on the list of the 400 richest Americans. He opened his first Chick-fil-A outlet in Atlanta in 1967.
Forty-five years later, the devout Baptist is the CEO of the second largest fried chicken chain in the country, with KFC being the largest. All Chick-fil-A stores are always closed on Sundays so that employees can attend church services.

12. Henry Parsons Crowell
Henry Parsons Crowell was an extraordinary Christian business man and founder of the Quaker Oats Company. He brought oatmeal to the mainstream, revolutionised marketing and merchandising methods of his time and advanced the Gospel through the Henry Parsons and Susan Coleman Crowell Trust. The Trust states that its purpose is to fund the teaching and active extension of the doctrines of evangelical Christianity.
Henry had no high school diploma or business qualifications. At a time when the Quaker Oats Company was struggling, he brought his business problems to the Lord. An idea soon came to him to package the oats in individual cardboard containers. Up to that point, oats were presented for sale in an unhygienic manner in big barrels or boxes on the grocery floors. The idea was a success and demand soared.
During the depression of 1893, 15,000 other businesses went bankrupt but Henry decided to make bold investments in advertising. He put billboards on trains and adverts in newspapers and magazines promoting “Quaker Oats, the World’s Breakfast”. He pioneered the use of celebrity endorsements and wrote the ads himself. At a time when others were failing, Henry’s business was a huge success. Instead of the usual method of approaching stores and convincing them of why they should stock his product, he advertised straight to the consumer. The consumer would in turn make a request to their local stores that the item be stocked. In so doing, Henry turned housewives across America into his sales people!
Many business people and corporate giants came to Christ as a result of their association with Henry and his wife. The more money Henry gave to Christiancauses, the more he prospered. He became hugely wealthy in various other businesses. He believed that all things were a stewardship from God. Towards the end of his life, Henry had given away 70% of his wealth. He went to be with the Lord at the age of 82, while riding the commuter train back to his house with a Bible in his hand.
A book was written about Henry titled “The Cereal Tycoon” by Joe Musser.

Outstanding people among successes are those that stand with God, the I AM is the ultimate source of wealth, prosperity and a wonderful eternity- shadrachonyarin'sblog

The incredible Story Of The World’s Richest Self-Made Woman Who Started As Just A Factory Worker!

Zhou Qunfei is the founder of Lens Technology and owns a $27 million estate in Hong Kong. Her stake in Lens Technology, which went public this year, is worth $7.2 billion. But long before all this, she worked in a factory and helped her family raise pigs and ducks for food and additional money.
This is her inspiring story written by David Barboza for The New York Times.
Qunfei is the world’s richest self-made woman. Ms. Zhou, the founder of Lens Technology, owns a $27 million estate in Hong Kong. She jets off to Silicon Valley and Seoul, South Korea, to court executives at Apple and Samsung, her two biggest customers. She has played host to President Xi Jinping of China, when he visited her company’s headquarters.
But she seems most at home pacing the floor of her state-of-the-art factory, tinkering.
She’ll dip her hands into a tray of water, to determine whether the temperature is just right. She can explain the intricacies of heating glass in a potassium ion bath. When she passes a grinding machine, she is apt to ask technicians to step aside so she can take their place for a while.
Ms. Zhou knows the drill. For years, she labored in a factory, the best job she could get having grown up in an impoverished village in central China.
“She ‘ll sometimes sit down and worked as an operator to see if there is anything wrong with the process,” said James Zhao, a general manager at Lens Technology. “That will put me in a very awkward position. If there was a problem, she’d say, “Why didn’t you see that?”
Ms. Zhou has honed her hands-on knowledge into a world-class, multibillion-dollar operation, one at the vanguard of China’s push into high-end manufacturing. Lens Technology is now one of the leading suppliers of the so-called cover glass used in laptops, tablets and mobile devices, including the Apple iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy. This year, her factories are expected to churn out more than a billion glass screens, each refined to a fraction of a millimeter.
“This is an industry that requires highly sophisticated technology,” says Stone Wu, an analyst at IHS Technology, the research firm. “If you have a ruler, check out how thin 0.5 millimeters is, and you’ll understand how hard it is to manufacture something that thin.”
In creating a global supplier, Ms. Zhou, 44, has come to define a new class of female entrepreneurs in China who have built their wealth from nearly nothing — a rarity in the world of business. In Japan, there is not a single self-made female billionaire, according to Forbes. In the United States and Europe, most women who are billionaires secured their wealth through inheritance.
No country has more self-made female billionaires than China. The Communist Party, under Mao Zedong, promoted gender equality, allowing women to flourish after capitalism started to take hold, according to Huang Yasheng, an expert in China’s entrepreneurial class and a professor of international management at M.I.T. And in a country with few established players, entrepreneurs like Ms. Zhou were able to quickly make their mark when they entered business in the 1990s as China’s economic engine was revving up.
Ms. Zhou’s stake in Lens Technology, which went public this year, is worth $7.2 billion. That puts her fortune on par with the media tycoon John C. Malone and Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay.
Ms. Zhou isn’t a celebrity chieftain, like Jack Ma, the billionaire founder of the e-commerce giant Alibaba. Few in China had even heard her name before her company’s public offering this year. She rarely grants interviews or makes public appearances.
An elegant woman with a cherubic face, owlish glasses and a preference for Christian Dior suits, Ms. Zhou is fastidious and demanding — “Sit up straight!” she commands of a general manager during a meeting. Yet she exudes charm and humility, a quiet recognition that things could have easily turned out differently.
“In the village where I grew up, a lot of girls didn’t have a choice of whether to go to middle school. They would get engaged or married and spend their entire life in that village,” she said in an interview at her office, where there was a wooden statue of Mao and a 27-inch desktop Mac. “I chose to be in business, and I don’t regret it.”

Leaning Toward the Obsessive

The youngest of three children, Ms. Zhou was born in a tiny village in the Hunan Province of central China, a farming community about two hours south of Changsha, the provincial capital. Her mother died when she was 5. Her father, a skilled craftsman, later lost a finger and most of his eyesight in an industrial accident.
At home, she helped her family raise pigs and ducks for food and additional money. At school, she excelled.
“She was a hard-working and talented student,” Zhong Xiaobai, her former middle-school teacher, says. “I once read her essay, ‘My Mother,’ aloud in class. It was so moving it brought everyone to tears.”
Despite her academic focus, Ms. Zhou dropped out of school at 16 and traveled south to Guangdong province to live with her uncle’s family and search for better work. While she dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, she eventually landed a job on a factory floor in the city of Shenzhen, making watch lenses for about $1 a day.
The conditions, she said, were harsh. “I worked from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m., and sometimes until 2 a.m.,” Ms. Zhou recalled. “There were no shifts, just a few dozen people, and we all polished glass. I didn’t enjoy it.”
After three months, she decided to quit and wrote a letter of resignation to her boss. In it, she complained about the hours and boredom. Even so, she expressed her gratitude for the job, saying she wanted to learn more.
The letter impressed the factory chief, who told her the plant was about to adopt new processes. He asked her to stay, offering her a promotion. It was the first of several over the next three years. In 1993, Ms. Zhou, then 22, decided to set out on her own. With $3,000 in savings, she and several relatives started their own workshop next door. They lured customers with the promise of even higher-quality watch lenses.
At the new company, Ms. Zhou did it all. She repaired and designed factory machinery. She taught herself complex screen-printing processes and difficult techniques that allowed her to improve prints for curved glass.
“In the Hunan language, we call women like her ‘ba de man,’ which means a person who dares to do what others are afraid to do,” said her cousin Zhou Xinyi, who helped her open the workshop and now serves on the Lens board.
Along the way, Zhou Qunfei married her former factory boss, had a child and divorced. She later married a longtime factory colleague, who serves on the Lens board, and had a second child.
Her work habits lean toward the obsessive. Her company’s headquarters is at one of her manufacturing plants in Changsha. In her spacious office, a door behind her desk opens into a small apartment, ensuring she can roam the factory floor day or night.

Propelled to Dominance

It was the mobile phone that made Ms. Zhou a billionaire. In 2003, she was still making glass for watches when she received an unexpected phone call from executives at Motorola. They asked if she was willing to help them develop a glass screen for their new device, the Razr V3.
At the time, the display screens on most mobile phones were made of plastic. Motorola wanted a glass display that would be more resistant to scratches and provide sharper images for text messages, photos and multimedia.
“I got this call, and they said, ‘Just answer yes or no, and if the answer’s yes, we’ll help you set up the process,’ ” Ms. Zhou recalled. “I said yes.”
Soon after, orders started rolling in from other mobile-phone makers like HTC, Nokia and Samsung. Then, in 2007, Apple entered the market with the iPhone, which had a keyboard-enabled glass touch screen that rewrote the rules of the game for mobile devices. Apple picked Lens as its supplier, propelling Ms. Zhou’s company into a dominant position in China.
After that, Ms. Zhou invested heavily in new facilities and hired skilled technicians. More than once, colleagues say, she put up her apartment as a guarantee for a new bank loan. Within five years, she had manufacturing plants under construction in three cities.
“She’s a passionate entrepreneur, and she’s very hands-on,” says James Hollis, an executive at Corning, which has a partnership with Lens Technology. “I’ve watched her company grow, and her develop a strong team. Now there are over 100 competitors in this space, but Lens is a Tier 1 player.”
Lens operates round the clock, with 75,000 workers spread across three main manufacturing facilities that occupy about 800 acres in the Changsha region. Each day, the company receives bulk shipments of glass from global manufacturers like Corning in the United States and Asahi Glass in Japan.
The glass is cut, ground down to size, bored and polished to give each plate a transparent finish. Then the plates are strengthened in a potassium ion bath, painted and cured. Finally, they are cleaned and coated with anti-smudge and anti-reflection films.
Ms. Zhou designs and choreographs nearly every step of the process, a detailed-oriented approach she traces to her childhood. “My father had lost his eyesight, so if we placed something somewhere, it had to be in the right spot, exactly, or something could go wrong,” she said. “That’s the attention to detail I demand at the workplace.”
Lens has not experienced the kinds of labor troubles that have clouded other contract manufacturers like Foxconn. But current and former workers say the job is challenging. Much of the work is done by young women who inspect glass at different angles, trying to detect flaws.
“As a quality inspector, I had to stare at those products all day long, so this is a tiring job,” said Gao Zhimei, who recently left Lens Technology. “But I should say that working in manufacturing is always tiring and working at Lens is not more tiring than working in other factories.”

Expanding a Customer Base

Lens Technology went public in March, as the Chinese stock market was booming. With the recent market collapse, the company has lost 45 percent in value, but it is still worth about $8 billion.
Last year, the company notched revenue of about $2.4 billion. Profit rose 40 percent in the first quarter. But Lens gets nearly 75 percent of its revenue from Apple and Samsung, making the company reliant on just two customers. In May, at the first shareholders’ meeting since the company went public, an investor pressed Lens about how it planned to maintain an edge in a hypercompetitive market that thrives on innovation.
Several executives tried to answer the question. Then Ms. Zhou spoke up, saying she was prepared to diversify the company’s business with production facilities geared toward higher-end glass, as well as sapphire and ceramic.
After the meeting adjourned, investors piled into a bus and rode with Ms. Zhou to the Lens campus, less than a mile away. Ms. Zhou had sat quietly through much of the shareholders’ meeting, but on the tour of the factory, she came alive. The shareholders hung on every word.

15-Year-old Nigerian girl, Kimberly Anyadike becomes youngest pilot to single-handedly fly cross the USA

She departed with a dream and returned home a record-breaker.Inspired by the Tuskeegee Airmen, 15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike of Nigerian descent flew a single-engine Cessna cross-country from her hometown of Compton, Calif., to Newport News, Va.
Anyadike is thought to be the youngest female pilot to complete the journey, which took 13 days. She arrived home in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 11.

Anyadike learned to fly at age 12 through the Compton-based Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, which offers aviation lessons in an after-school program for disadvantaged youths, the Los Angeles Times reported. It was their plane that she flew on her cross-country trip.
The brave teenager came up with the idea for the trip on her own, the museum’s founder, Robert Petgrave, told the Times
“I told her it was going to be a daunting task, but she just said, ‘Put it on. I got big shoulders,’” Petgrave said.
Along for the historic ride were an adult safety pilot and 87-year-old Levi Thornhill, one of the Tuskeegee Airmen during World War II.
“They left such a great legacy,” Anyadike said of the U.S. Army Air Corps’ all-black combat unit. “I had big shoes to fill. … All they wanted to do was to be patriots for this country. They were told no, that they were stupid, that they didn’t have cognitive development to fly planes. They didn’t listen. They just did what they wanted to do.”

About 50 Tuskeegee Airmen autographed the young pilot’s plane during her journey, the Times reported.
“I wanted to inspire other kids to really believe in themselves,” Anyadike said.

EFCC operative batters, abandons lover over refusal to abort pregnancy

*‘He gave me N18,000 for abortion’
LAGOS—A teenager, who alleged that she had been abandoned after being impregnated by an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has appealed to authorities of the commission to intervene.

The pregnant teenager, Blessing Nwokpa, also alleged that effort to reach her estranged lover (names withheld) earned her a beating at the commission’s office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The 19-year-old claimed that the operative took advantage of her homelessness to put her in the family way, only to abandon her when it mattered most.
Trouble, as gathered, started after Nwokpa who worked as a canteen attendant at the Awolowo Road, Ikoyi office of EFCC, had accommodation problem. She was compelled to be sleeping in the canteen, when her lover reportedly offered to give her shelter.
Her story
According to the expectant mother, who is currently in the custody of the Legal Aids Council, “I was staying with my brother when I left Enugu for Lagos. He found the canteen job for me.
“At a point he had accommodation problem and I was sleeping in the canteen when the EFCC man said I could be sleeping in his house until my brother get another apartment.
“I accepted without thinking of the impossible. But at night he would lure me into having sex with him until I became pregnant without knowing.
“When I eventually discovered I was pregnant, I told him and his attitude towards me changed. He gave me N18,000 to abort the pregnancy but I refused. When he discovered I was still keeping the pregnancy, he started beating me and threw my things out of his apartment.
“He beat me to a pulp when I went to his office to request for money for ante-natal. Some of his senior colleagues rescued me,” adding that she was sacked at the canteen because of her pregnancy.
Legal Aids intervenes
She was reportedly directed to the Legal Aids Council where she lodged the complaint.
Vanguard was informed that attempt by the council to make peace between the duo failed as the EFCC officer did not show up when invited.
The teenager said all she needed was for the EFCC operative to take responsibility of the pregnancy and not necessarily to marry her.
Efforts by Vanguard to reach the concerned EFCC officer on his mobile phone failed as it was switched off. Sources at the commission told Vanguard that the matter was a private one.

My hubby wants oral sex, but…

Dear Bunmi,
My husband and I have a good sex life, but I’ve never really got much kick out of oral sex. Most women go on about how good it is, but it does nothing for me. When making love, I like really firm pressure and a slithering tongue just can’t provide that. In fact, the only time it worked for me, I stimulated myself with my fingers before my husband finished things off.
He’s complained he feels really cheated that I don’t enjoy oral sex. I even heard him complaining about it to a friend. So, now I feel guilty for short-changing him.
Bella By e-mail.
Dear Bella,
Some women like penetration, others don’t.  A lot of women might be in seventh heaven when they have oral sex, only you aren’t one of those women, no problem.
Unfortunately, it seems to be a problem with your husband. He may feel he’s not giving you enough pleasure.
So, explain to him that every woman is different. Stress that the fact that you’re not enjoying oral sex doesn’t mean he’s a bad lover. Remind him of the ways he does turn you on, all the other ways he has of making you feel ecstatic.
The bottom line is that sex is an individual thing. Some men don’t particularly go for oral sex either. You and your husband obviously have a good love life – so don’t worry if it doesn’t involve oral sex.

Open season of beefs: Timeline of assaults and counter assault

Hardly had the New Year begun before the entertainment scene started to rock with beefs, scandals and hilarious controversies. Some have been settled amicably while others are yet to be resolved. In no particular order, we take a look at the beefs and controversies brewing in 2016.
Davido vs Sophie
The first of its kind was the Davido and his babymama dispute. Before the hilarious dispute hit news stands in the concluding part of 2016, reports had it that the HKN boss, Davido and the Momodu dynasty were already engaged in a closed door feud.
What brought the initial closed door dispute to limelight was Sophia’s gross parental incapacitation, which greatly affected Imade’s health, Davido and Sophia Momodu’s out of wedlock born daughter.

Don Jazzy vs Olamide

Shockingly, the very first day of 2016 was a bit dramatic for the entertainment industry. Olamide Adedeji, a.k.a ‘Olamide badoo’ and Don Jazzy, threw tantrums at each other at the 10th edition of the Headies Awards.
The YBNL boss climbed the Headies stage to express his discontent on the Next Rated Award Category given to Mavin signee, Reekado Banks. Don Jazzy promptly responded to Olamide’s reaction when he climbed the stage to receive a Special Recognition Award. The feud has long been resolved.

Dammy Krane vs Wizkid
Subsequently, it began to look like the entertainment industry was being bewitched. Shortly after the Olamide/Don Jazzy drama, Dammy Krane took to his social media page to accuse Wizkid of stealing his lyrics and slangs, which Wizkid used in one of his songs.
The duo even went as far as engaging in a physical brawl at Quilox Night Club. Owner of the club, Shina Peller orchestrated the settlement of this disgraceful incident between the two music stars.

Blackface vs Wizkid
After Dammy Krane and Wizkid’s fight, it seemed the music industry had been destined to crumble with scandals and controversies. Erstwhile rapper of the defunct Plantashun Boyz, Blackface, also publicly accused Wizkid of stealing his song. The dancehall, ragga and reggae artiste claimed that Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ is replete with his (Blackface’s) lyrics.
The rapper who has been behind the scenes in the music industry for some time now has been accused by music lovers of being a social climber, seeking public attention because he needs to reintegrate into the entertainment circle.
Chioma Akpotha vs Uche Jumbo and others Like a premeditated Nollywood script, some Nollywood stars have joined in the series of beefs making the headlines in 2016. No one saw it coming when Chioma Akpotha took to Twitter and tweeted a picture of Blessing Egbe, Uche Jumbo, Emem Isong, Ufuoma Mc-Dermott and Omoni Oboli with the statement: “Sometimes, sisters aren’t really sisters #2016Mindingmyownbusiness #Stayingonmylane #Movingon.
No one really knows what prompted the twitter outburst but the actresses who are in the picture didn’t find it flattering as they have all responded to her tweet.
Blessing Effiom Egbe puts it this way: “And you know this because? If this is your way of announcing your interest? You don fail be that”
Omoni Oboli was much more direct in her response: “Ok, what is all this about? Minding your business by posting my picture? #TooEarlyInTheYear
Ufuoma McDermott put hers this way: “See trouble oo! Too early in the year for this please! Really what a way to mind your business”
Uche Jumbo Rodriguez’s response came straight from the heart: “Shaking my head to all these rubbish I am seeing. No words! You have my number, don’t let the devil use you”
The social media is agog with questions stemming from Chioma’s tweet with everyone asking what prompted her Twitter outburst.

Cynthia Morgan vs Davido
Dancehall star, Cynthia Morgan clinched the best dancehall act at the 2015 Headies. However, she took to her Snapchat platform cursing Davido for endorsing Lil Kesh as his favourite Next Rated artiste. She used a derogatory word in describing him and also took shots at his label mates.
Observers in the entertainment circle were expecting Davido to lash out at her in a more condescending manner, He however took another route. He simply said: “I hope you reach where I have conquered”
Blackface vs 2face
Blackface, a member of thedefunct Plantashun Boyz took to Twitter to express his aversion for how 2face allegedly stole his song. He stated that his former partner 2face stole from him .He also threatens to sue the African Queen sensation. Recall that Let somebody love you is a song on 2face’s Ascension album and features Bridget Kelly.
2face in a recent interview was asked what his thoughts were about Blackface’s allegation. He simply said: “It is just so unfortunate. I do not know where it is coming from but I am trying to think of different reasons. We will trash the whole matter but I got nothing but love and respect for him and it is just so unfortunate that he is coming at me like that”.

#Dasukigate: Obanikoro responds to EFCC probe of sons over alleged N4.8billion fraudulent payment

The immediate past Minister of State, Foreign Affairs Musiliu Obanikoro has challenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to sincerely publish the names of the directors and signatories to the Sylvan McNamara Limited account that allegedly received N4.8billion from the office of the National Security Adviser.
In a statement circulated on his behalf by his media aide, Jonathan Eze, Mr. Obanikoro said the EFCC should provide details of the real signatories to the account “as at when the said money was paid instead of demonising and deceiving Nigerians with vague, contrived and distorted information”.
“Obanikoro is appalled by the public political persecution embarked upon by these agencies noting that there is nowhere in the world where investigations are being conducted using the pages of the newspapers,” the statement said.
The former minister also “queried the wisdom and logic of bandying figures and associating same with his sons who are thorough bred professionals in their own rights reminding them that the court of law is and remains the judicial institution for trying cases and not whipping sentiments in order to give the dog a bad name and hang it.”
Saying he served the nation in various capacities with enviable and untainted records of public service, Mr. Obanikoro urged the EFCC to be straight and above board in its investigations and avoid speculations and conjectures that are infringing on the fundamental human rights of his sons.
The statement reads in parts, “Associating my sons to the Sylvan McNamara account that allegedly received funds from the office of the embattled National security Adviser is highly preposterous and unthinkable.
“I am particularly amazed by the fact that trials and investigations are being done using the media unconventionally just to satisfy the cravings of political entities who are desperate to rub my hard earned reputation in the mud.
“I am using this medium to challenge … the EFCC to publish in good conscience the signatories and the names of the directors of the said company and to restate that I shall conclusively pursue this injustice and infringements to a logical end.”
The former minister also attacked news website, SaharaReporters, for publishing the report indicating that an account linked to his sons received funds from the NSA office, although other news platform, including PREMIUM TIMES, also published the reports.
Reports Saturday had indicated that two sons of the former minister Babajide and Gbolahan Obanikoro, were on the radar of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after about N4.75billion was traced to a company, Sylvan McNamara Limited, in which the two men have interest.
Operatives believe the investigation might lead to the invitation of former Minister Obanikoro himself.
The politician is currently in the United States where he is said to be schooling.
The money was allegedly paid in several tranches into the company’s account number 0026223714 with Diamond bank from the Office of the National Security Adviser account with the CBN.
According to the source, all the transfers were effected between June and December 2014, a period that coincided with the preparation for and the conduct of the Ekiti state gubernatorial election which ushered in the current administration of Governor Ayodele Fayose.
For instance N200m was transferred into Sylvan Mc Namara’s account on June 5, 2015, while N2billion was also wired into the account from the CBN/ Imprest Main account on June 16, 2015.
Another transfer of N700million hit the account on July 7, 2014, while N1billion was credited to the account on July 30, 2014.
Other transfers included N160m on August 8, 2014; N225m on August 22, 2014; N200m on November 14, 2014 and N200m on December 5, 2014.
Both Gbolahan and Babajide Obanikoro, sources disclosed, as directors of the company, were also signatories to its account until 2014 when one Olalekan Ogunseye was made sole signatory to the account.
EFCC sources disclosed that the payments to the company from the office of the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, were made without any contract.
Mr. Dasuki is being prosecuted for allegedly mismanaging $2.1billion meant for arms procurement to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-west region of Nigeria.

ARMS DEAL: EFCC closes in on Obanikoro’s children over N4.8billion

TWO sons of former Minister of state for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro,  Messr Babajide and  Gbolahan Obanikoro are currently on the radar of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Sources at the anti- graft agency disclosed that N4,745,000,000.00 was traced to a company, Sylvan McNamara Limited, in which they have interest.
The money was allegedly paid in several tranches into the company’s account number: 0026223714 with Diamond bank from the Office of the National Security Adviser account with the CBN. According to the source, all the transfers were effected between June and December 2014, a period that coincided with the preparation for and conduct of the Ekiti state governorship election, which ushered in the current administration of Governor Ayodele Fayose.

He  stressed only unity and cooperation among Yoruba traditional rulers would bring the desired development to the people across communities in the area. “If we are united, we can achieve a lot for our people. But if we allow politicians to infiltrate and divide us, they will spoil everything. We should not as traditional rulers sell ourselves out because of pecuniary gains. That had happened in the past and caused disunity in Yorubaland. We should not be partial, the interest of our people should matter most to us. Our paramount aim is to speak the minds of our people and  provide social amenities”, Awujale said.
While acknowledging the role played by the late Ooni of  Ife ,Oba Adesoji Aderemi in the mutual respect that existed between them, Awujale described  Oba Enitan Ogunwusi as a man  of history and prayed that  his reign as a paramount king in Yorubaland will be fruitful. Oba Adetona also urged the Ooni to continue to forge and foster unity and cooperation among all Yoruba monarchs.
Yoruba monarchs, people must unite – Ooni
In his remarks, Oba Ogunwusi who stormed the Ijebu-Ode palace of the Awujale with a retinue of Ife kings, high chiefs and palace officials, harped on unity and cooperation among traditional rulers and people of Yorubaland. The Ooni called for a replication of the kind of unity and cooperation that existed among traditional rulers in Yorubaland up till 1941 when the Obas in the area last held a joint meeting. According to him, it was only through unity and cooperation that the traditional rulers in Yorubaland could achieve the best for their people.

I am here to learn from Awujale
Oba Ogunwusi added that he was in Ijebuland to learn from the Awujale who  he said God  has preserved for 56 years on the throne. He therefore expressed his readiness to move closer to the Ijebu monarch so as to foster better cooperation and unity among Yoruba traditional rulers. The Ooni said: “The position God has put me today is not because of my power or might. It has pleased God to make me the Ooni in my youth. Therefore, I have resolved to come closer to the Awujale because since 1941 when Yoruba traditional rulers last met, we have not had any other joint meeting. This should not be so.
“It is our culture to respect elders and there is nothing better than that before God. God loves the Yoruba people so much that He gave us everything. But if we are not united, we won’t know our worth. God has blessed all of us in Yorubaland but it is through cooperation we can achieve the best.”
Oba Ogunwusi prayed for lasting peace throughout Yorubaland and stressed the need for all members of Yoruba nation to come together and defend their rights. “Yoruba must acknowledge their values and be in unity in order to develop and promote  Yorubaland. I am not here for supremacy battle because all of us belong to one God and the King of Kings to whom we will all be accountable”.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi explained further that his visit is mainly to acknowledge Oba Adetona as one of the paramount kings in Yorubaland whose wisdom and experience are t needed to unify all Yoruba sons and daughters, adding “I will be closer to Oba Adetona to solicit his support in the campaign of unity and peace I have  started.”
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Dagburewe  of Idowa, Oba  Yinusa Adekoya who described Oba Adeyeye as a unique monarch and epitome of distinction, said  the  historic visit will go along way in the history of  Yorubaland. It will be recalled Ooni had stated in his condolence message on Olubadan, a week ago, that he would have loved to be hosted by the late Olubadan as he would be taking his unity visit which he had begun with Alaaafin to his palace in Ibadan.

Building bonds and relationships on strong foundation is the bed rock on which every great nation stands. This wonderful affair between the Oni and his people will bring great peace and prosperity to Yoruba nation and all the people working with him.
